Are You Living in New Testament Time?
Monday, January 06, 2003
Beloved, did you know we are to live in the New Testament time that we are living in now? Did you know that if the Church is not careful, we could miss God with mixing too much "religion" of the Old Testament for the life of today with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Please look at the following Psalms and see that in Psalm 22 IS PAST, Psalm 23 IS PRESENT AND Psalm 24 IS TO COME. These Psalms SHOW US THAT SOME OF THE OLD TESTAMENT IS FOR THE PAST AND SOME FOR US TODAY AND SOME FOR US IN THE FUTURE. There will be revelation this year from God's Word that will bring us information that is so needed by the Church to walk holy and be what God wants for the body of Christ's Church of today. The point I would like to make in this article is that we live in the NOW of Jesus' present covenant. Not in the past and not in the future, but the NOW!
Beloved, what are saints doing with all this going to this place and that place to do warfare in this and that area because this or that spirit is over this and that place? They say, "Let us fly over there, and everyone pray as we rent a stadium to pull the spirits down over that place." What does it matter if the Queen of Heaven is here or there? To God, souls being saved by His anointed Church going out and having signs and wonders happen via the ministry Holy Spirit does through them is the bottom line.
What is going on? Where is God's Word in all of this going to get the Queen of Heaven. repent for your forefathers' sins against the Indians, etc. going on in the Church today? We are living in the New Covenant, not the Old Covenant. Please do not be upset and please keep reading to see what I get in me is happening today.
Did we understand from the gospel that our Lord Jesus told us to cast out spirits (demons) from people, or from places? Did you ever read in God's Word that Jesus went into a town and rented a stadium to cast out the demons over that town? Or to repent to this or that peoples? I don't think so. This gives man too much glory anyway. It is all about Jesus and what results when God shows up - souls are saved and signs and wonders follow.
Please take a moment to look with me at how Jesus cast the demon out of the person to whom He ministered, and that person went away praising God for the deliverance and the healing he or she received. As persons get free, the place gets a stronghold of God in it. Other strongholds no longer have a stronghold when God is there among the throngs of saved and set-free children of God. Hallelujah!
Luke 4:31-37 (The Amplified Bible) "31 And He descended to Capernaum, a town of Galilee, and there He continued to teach the people on the Sabbath days. 32 And they were amazed at His teaching, for His word was with authority and ability and weight and power. 33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who was possessed by the foul spirit of a demon; and he cried out with a loud (deep, terrible) cry, 34 Ah, let us alone! What have You to do with us [What have we in common], Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know Who You are - the Holy One of God! 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be silent (muzzled, gagged), and come out of him! And when the demon had thrown the man down in their midst, he came out of him without injuring him in any possible way. 36 And they were all amazed and said to one another, What kind of talk is this? For with authority and power He commands the foul spirits and they come out! 37 And a rumor about Him spread into every place in the surrounding country."
Spirits over a place would have no place there if anointed saints went into that place, preached the gospel and prayed for the newly saved to be set free. It is all about "Go Tell" - preaching the gospel with the anointing on you. That is what sets an area, country, etc. free. Where is the anointing on anything else? The church who go on prayer walks need to save souls, and where people get saved, the change will come to that area.
Beloved, where people get saved, there are no evil spirits left in that place. Only Holy Spirit in them is there, and where God is, demons cannot be.
It is time to do what New Covenant saints of God are supposed to be doing, just as Jesus did - preaching the Gospel and saving souls, healing the sick, etc.!
Beloved. What is going on with these gatherings to repent of something that happened 200 to 500 years ago, or more? The Germans are told to repent for the sins of their forefathers toward the Jews in the Holocaust, Germans who were not even alive when the Holocaust took place. If one says to do such a thing, making the Germans repent, then why don't we send someone to Israel to make the Jews repent for what they did to Jesus? Do you know why we would not go to Israel to do that? It is because whoever did that would be killed. Leave the past alone, and let the generations of today live in the New Covenant of God. Go get the harvest in Germany and in Israel, as Jesus told us to "Go Preach The Gospel".
When Jesus went to Nazareth, He could not do any mighty works and none were healed except one, due to their unbelief. Let us get the persons in an area saved, not ask them to repent for what their forefathers did. If forefathers had unbelief in the gospel, it is not the people of today who need to repent for them. When a saint gets set free of generational curses as a result of becoming saved, he or she will no longer live in unbelief, etc.! The saved will worship God and get holy and go win the lost, and all the area where they live will change.
Would you be the one to go to Jesus to say, "Well, Jesus, You just didn't pray enough. You needed to pray more to break it open over the city"? No! We are into works when we need to go pray and yet no one, or only one, gets saved. Let Holy Spirit do His job, not us. The gospel preached in a town with the anointing on one will lead sinners to be born again. The trouble is that we are not preaching the gospel on the prayer walks. No soul winning is done. We can pray and pray, but unless we preach the gospel and go out into the highways and byways to compel people to come to Jesus, we will have prayers without actions to gather in the harvest for such a time as this.
On the day of Pentecost, about three thousand souls were saved by the preaching of the gospel out on the streets. When the power of the Holy Spirit is with us, we can see what can be done to get souls saved as they were in Acts 2.
Beloved, today all over the world, people are going to admonish others to repent for their fathers' sins, instead of telling them to repent for their present sins and preaching the gospel to them so Holy Spirit can change them to be like Jesus. And let us remember that as the persons become born again or saved, so will that place, too.
We are to rightly divide the Word of God and know in which covenant we are. We are in the New Covenant, not the Old Covenant. Religious, Old Covenant ways are no longer. An example of such Old Covenant ways would be your going to a church to preach, where they tell you they are blowing the shofar to clear the air of spirits so you can preach with no interference. If you are that minister to whom this was said and you are going to many other places to preach with resulting great harvests, then ask this church if this blowing of the shofar or waving of flags to clean the air before you preach is necessary. Then ask them why you have souls saved and people healed when you preach in all the other places to which you go to preach the gospel without any flag waving or shofar blowing.
The Old-New division we must know. The Church is holding onto Old Covenant with the wearing of the shawls and the little caps along with the shofar blowing and flag waving. There are only certain things in the Old Covenant that are for now. For instance, Psalm 23 is a "now" psalm. However, when Daniel prayed on one occasion, it took 21 days until the answer came to him under the Old Covenant because there was a division between him and the third heaven then. Today we are in New Covenant, and we do not have to wait 21 days. We have Holy Spirit! God lives inside of us, and this changes things. The tabernacle of God is Holy Spirit in us now. We cannot do the religious, Old Covenant things because we are the New Covenant saints of God. The only saved ones in the Old Covenant were the anointed prophets and kings with whom Holy Spirit was present.
Beloved, charismatic Spirit-filled believers next may be slaughtering bulls for a sacrifice if they continue in Old Covenant and not in all of the New Covenant. This would be the enemy using them to get people's eyes off of the sacrificial Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, Who by His death and resurrection declared, "It is finished." No more law of the Old Covenant, for the shedding of Jesus Christ's Blood is all New Covenant for believers. We are to walk in the light of the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Keeping religious, Old Covenant stuff on oneself to be into works is wrong. We need to speak the truth to those who hold onto the Old Covenant in such a way. We are in the New Covenant since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Please let us look at Galatians 3:1-2 in The Amplified Bible. "1 O you poor and silly and thoughtless and unreflecting and senseless Galatians! Who has fascinated or bewitched or cast a spell over you, unto whom - right before your very eyes - Jesus Christ (the Messiah) was openly and graphically set forth and portrayed as crucified?" Paul said that the Galatians had the Holy Spirit, so why were they acting silly, senseless, and religious? He continues: " 2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the [Holy] Spirit as the result of obeying the Law and doing its works, or was it by hearing [the message of the Gospel] and believing [it]? [Was it from observing a law of rituals or from a message of faith?]"
The devil will try to get you from faith to rituals. Obsessive-compulsive disorders are rampant in the Church to move believers into the flesh and the "doing" works to feel like holy, "religious" people. No! No! No! We are to be faith-filled, gospel preaching, praying and praising people of God and see God the Holy Spirit do through us.
In the Old Testament, Jews had to be circumcised. They must have had a circumcision-checker (smile - but they really must have had this or some way to know) as they came into services. Are we going to go back to circumcision? (See Galatians.) If we are shofar blowers or shawl wearers in order to be holy, will our men have to be presenting themselves for circumcision, too? Watch out for those who are into religious, Old Covenant works. They may one day have your men line up for circumcision, too. (selah!)
We don't have to be attacking false gods. All we have to do is let the world see the un-religious Lord Jesus Christ in us and preach His gospel for the world to be saved and set free. We need to stop all the attention to feathers, gold dust, and shofar blowing, and instead preach the gospel. We hear today about feathers and gold dust in the meetings, yet we do not hear of many souls being saved at these meetings, do we?
People are superstitious and see and say such hieroglyphics as, "Oh, that's evil. Get it away from me." That is just early communication, nothing else but the way they communicated hundreds of years ago, or longer. Because of the superstition in people, they may go on a big spiritual warfare, "let's go get those spirits" type of adventure. Church, we are New Covenant gospel preachers! Did you know Holy Spirit is touching people in mosques today? He is reaching into nightclubs and other places besides churches. We must not underestimate the Third Person of the Godhead - the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit leads and guides into all truth.
My pastors have churches in Turkey who are leading others to Jesus. Forget the Queen of Heaven. Those who went to Ephesus in Turkey to rent a stadium to get the Queen of Heaven to fall down -- garbage! Go to Ephesus to win souls. You have the authority and commission to do this. Where is this "go-get the Queen of Heaven" coming from, anyway?
Beloved, we have this treasure in earthen vessels to preach the gospel and win souls. Then the Queen of Heaven will not be a concern because the truth of the gospel will make the changes in an area without our renting stadiums to go-get anything. Rent a stadium and preach the gospel full of the anointing, and see the place change. The spirits over the area will flee as souls serve the one true God of all gods. Money for traveling here and there to get this or that spirit will be used for the Harvest gathering, for stadium soul winning outreaches, and for discipling and helping the poor.
Beloved, Bringing in the Harvest now is what it is about for such a time as this. Preaching the gospel with a pure heart is all that it takes. Increasing in the anointing because we have had our self-nature crucified and have humbled ourselves before our Yahweh God is all we need to be seeking God to do in us as we worship Him - for such a time as this.
Living a life of love and obedience to God is all it takes now.
Living in Love and Kingdom Unity is all it takes now.
Living a life of worship and prayer is all it takes now.
Living a life of "Go Tell The Gospel" is all it takes now.
Living a life of "Go bring in the Harvest" is all it takes now.
Living like Jesus did is New Testament living and is what it takes for such a time as this.
Love and Blessings,
Joan Ann
