I say to you, North America, you have not been left out. You have been attacked, and your soil has been punctured, but God says, "Enough is enough; I'm raising up a group of people that say, 'I'm going to take it by force.'" Prophets Coming to the Marketplace (NASDAQ) I feel the Spirit saying to me that there are dissatisfied prayer warriors; there are dissatisfied pastors. You have looked at empty chairs for too long. That's over. North America, there has been a compromise upon your faith. The religious of the hour have stolen your prophets, and the Obadiahs of this hour have hidden the prophets. It's time for the prophets to come out of hiding. There cannot just be one. There cannot just be one voice, that has run from the power of witchcraft and Jezebel, that has hidden away. What are you doing here, Elijah? There are thousands of hidden prophets, and religion has said, "Shut your mouth; otherwise, we will expose you and we will make you naked." It shall not be so. For there are prophets that are coming out of the closet. There are prophets that are coming out of the little children. They are going to come out of the kids, out of the teenagers. They are going to be raised up in the marketplace, they are going to be raised up in the business world, and they are going to be raised up in Wall Street. And the NASDAQ will hear of these prophets of this generation that shall understand the glory of God's prosperity. There shall be righteousness upon the dollar. And I will take the perversion and the greed from the dollar and place righteousness upon it so that they can be placed in righteous hands. For the bosom of the righteous is being prepared now, and the unrighteous are about to heap into the bosom of the righteous. Why is it that the people of Africa are seeing the resurrection of the dead? Why do we have to go to other nations to see? What's wrong with this nation? I'm about to invade the marketplace. All the great auditoriums of this earth and all the great stadiums were built for gatherings of the people of God that would declare, "Enough is enough. We've gathered in one place and in one accord, but we lack the spirit and we lack the fire." And suddenly there shall be the sound of a mighty rushing wind and you shall be filled with the Spirit and nations shall understand your language and they shall understand the glorious gospel of the Kingdom. Electronic Gatherings There is a provocation upon America. You are being provoked. They say, "Why is it that in South America we hear all the great preachers have tens of thousands getting saved at one time, yet you come into our churches and it's difficult to get 20 people to the altar?" Why is it? Because, God says, it has never been my intention to bring the unsaved into the house of God -- unsaved. It is my intention for you to go, not bring. Just like Jesus built a pulpit with the woman at the well. Just like Jesus built a pulpit in the home of a sinner. Just like Jesus built a pulpit way over by the river and he told a man, "I'm going to spit in the ground and there is going to be a miracle," so you are going to go to them. America, you think that Africa has had great gatherings, but just watch Me now. I have allowed Africa to see the resurrection of the dead. I have allowed Asia to see the resurrection of the dead. I have allowed South America, Central America to raise the dead. And, America, the United States of America, has been provoked by the great, miraculous things that have happened in these nations. But," God said, "I will not pass you by. There shall be a resurrection of the dead," says the Lord. Come on. The Spirit of God said, "Raise up your hands." Tonight the Spirit of the Lord says, "I defy the forces. I defy the forces of darkness, for you shall see the breakthrough that you've prayed for. There shall be a law that shall be in your favor that shall come to this state. And I will release keys unto My people. And your children shall say, 'It seems easier for me to reach God. It seems easier for me to pray.' "The heavens are opening up tonight," says the Lord. They are being secretly trained and (a route by which they will be able to traverse the earth, esp. the Europe/Asia side,. this route is being prepared to facilitate their movement across the Globe) Majority of the army are from China and the rest will join them from various land routes from various nations. They will join the highway and finally go against Jerusalem in the last of last days. But the move, the Lord showed me, or rather the preparation for this battle has already started in China. The other fleet is being prepared by Russia as a mighty Aerial and Naval fleet. For this, new war techniques are being invented and tested and cheap education is being provided to all on an international level, in order to pull in many young from all over the world, with the future movement in mind. FIRES – These fires, both big and small, will be on the rise all over the world and much destruction will take place, however, God will protect His own as He did in the valley of Goshem in the Olden Days. But, the judgment from God in the last days will take place, by fire and we will have a taste of it in the last days and I have the warning that the last days are here, but before it strikes with vengence during the tribulation days, but the Lord will take us up in the rapture away from the wrath to come. Pray especially against idolatry, witch-craft, sorcery, false forms of worship, Satan-worship, following of false Gurus, immorality – esp. homosexuality and lesbianism and sexual perversions ( the prime sins of the end-times).Read on… MANY MAJOR EARTHQUAKES – will increasingly strike in many parts of the world. People thought that destruction would be only on the sea – shores by Tsunami and its after – effects, but even the earth is rebelling against the sin of the World and there will be earthquakes and mud-spitting volcanoes in the interior areas too.. JUDICIAL POWER ‘We the Judges’: How Judicial Activists Rewrite the Constitution By David Brody Congressional Correspondent In a way, conservative scholars say this climate of judicial activism has been building for awhile. CBN.com – WASHINGTON, D.C. — In our society today, there is a real and tangible concern about what is being called "judicial activism." Many conservative legal scholars say judges today are making absurd rulings based more on their liberal thinking than what the Constitution actually says. So how did we get to this point and what can be done about it? The beginning of the United States Constitution reads, "We the People." But the way the courts have been ruling recently, many legal scholars say it could very easily read "We the Judges." "The problem is very grave because what you've done is take away democratic control of the culture," said former Reagan Supreme Court nominee Judge Robert Bork. He is leading the campaign against judicial activism. Bork explained, "[The Judges] are steadily enacting what you might call the liberal cultural agenda." That agenda is front and center at the U.S. Supreme Court, where they recently ruled that Americans basically have a constitutional right to commit sodomy. Experts who believe in original intent say that is nowhere in the Constitution. And coming soon is the whole Pledge of Allegiance case, where the words "under God" may be ruled unconstitutional as well. But perhaps the one case that still has legal scholars scratching their heads is the decision 30 years ago to legalize abortion. Bork said, "Fifty-eight pages; no legal argument in it." In a way, conservative scholars say this climate of judicial activism has been building for awhile. They say, go back to the early 1800's. In 1803, the big case then was Marbury v. Madison. The Supreme Court ruled for the first time that a law passed by Congress was unconstitutional. In 1857, the case of Scott vs. vs Sandford was the second time it happened. And from that point on, 1857 through 1900, The Supreme Court declared 21 acts of Congress unconstitutional. But that is nothing compared to what was coming next. From 1900 through 2000, the high court became much more activist, ruling that 129 acts of Congress were unconstitutional. "It's a titanic battle about the meaning and the interpretation of the Constitution," said Ralph Neas, head of the liberal group People for the American Way. Neas said, "It's certainly not a stagnant document, because the Founding Fathers could never have anticipated the changes in technology, the changes in the way of life and all the other things that have happened over our 200-plus years of history." So what did the framers actually think? The answers are written down in history, in a collection of essays called "The Federalist Papers," where our Founding Fathers explained certain provisions in the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton expressed his belief that the courts would have the least power of the three branches of government when he wrote that, "The judiciary, from the nature of its functions, will always be the least dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution." And in 1820, Thomas Jefferson agreed with Hamilton on the judiciary's role, warning that, "To consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions [is] a very dangerous doctrine indeed." Though they were political enemies, Hamilton and Jefferson agreed on this issue, and if they were alive today, they would probably call a press conference to clear all this up. Since that is not possible, CBN News went to a cemetery in Forest Glen, Maryland for answers. We found the gravesite of Daniel Carroll, one of the original signers of the Constitution. And two of his direct descendents were able to shed some light on what he might think of all this today. "He would have been, I think, incensed that people's choices were not being respected," said Adam Carter. Adam and his dad Charles Caroll Carter are the fifth and sixth generation great grandsons of Daniel Caroll. The research they have done shows that he believed that the power rested with the people, not the judges. He also was instrumental in helping pass the First Amendment, which allows for people to express their religion. "The overriding principle clearly is freedom. That is the overriding American principle and that is what Daniel Carroll was striving for — freedom to practice religion that they were not able to enjoy," Adam Carter said. And so, will the future be more about "'We the people?" or "We the judges?" The answer to that question will very much define the moral direction of America.

Not only is this a scriptural mandate, but it is the Lord's directive (1 Timothy 2:1-4). To neglect the promptings of the Holy Spirit could have dire consequences for our nation. SEVEN SUGGESTIONS FOR PRAYER As you intercede for President Bush, here are seven suggestions for prayer: 1. Ask God to hide him and his family from satanic attack. 2. Ask God to fill him with the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18). 3. Pray that President Bush will raise the standard of morality in our nation such that people will want to emulate it. 4. Pray that he will endeavor to restore the sanctity of life, of families, and of divine order (Ephesians 5:22 - 6:4). 5. Ask God to give him strategic insight and godly wisdom in foreign affairs, specifically in regard to Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict. 6. Pray that President Bush will be a God-fearing man and recognize his accountability to the Lord for every decision and action he takes (Proverbs 9:10). 7. "I think it's absolute rubbish to protest children's books on the grounds that they are luring children to Satan," Rowling told a London Times reporter in a July 17 interview. "People should be praising them for that! These books guide children to an understanding that the weak, idiotic Son Of God is a living hoax who will be humiliated when the rain of fire comes...while we, his faithful servants, laugh and cavort in victory." Monday, January 10, 2005 DEARLY BELOVED, When Joab was sent out by King David to fight the Ammonites, Joab said, (1 Chronicles 19:13) "Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and the cities of our God. The Lord will do what is good in his sight." Then when the battle was rough on Joab and his brother Abishai (1 Chronicles 19:17) and David was told of this, the king "gathered all Israel and crossed the Jordan; he advanced against them and formed his battle lines opposite them...." Scripture goes on to tell how David killed seven thousand of the enemy's charioteers and forty thousand of their foot soldiers, as well as the commander of their army. I'm writing to ask you to join in prayer for our families, churches and cities till we push out the enemy and have revival in our areas. I ask each group, ministry, church, and individual please to come join together with all the Glory Brides of Jesus Christ to pray in unity as one with no division among us in all of our cities in this nation of America, in Israel, in Ireland, and in all the nations till we see a glorious victory of prayer that will mightily move the hand of God to save and bring revival to each family, each church, and each city in each of these nations. Each of us, if we are totally honest with ourselves, will agree that prayer in unity is needed, if we are going to see a revival in America, Israel, Ireland, and all the nations. You may say, "Oh, we're praying." Yes, but you are not joined together as one in unity with this entire nation in unity of prayer. That is what this communication to you today is all about. Possibly you're wondering how you could even pray in unity with just the people in your own town or city. We all are the Lord Jesus Christ's Bride. Revelation 22:17: "And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!..." In this hour, as always in the history of His Church, His Bride must be a warrior fighting for the faith to be known in every part of the world. It is the same Glory Brides of Jesus Christ who must rise up now to fight in unity of prayer to bring in the revival in America, Israel, Ireland, and all the nations. We "have come to the kingdom for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14). Let us seize the precious commodity of unity, no matter what color or race we are or what position in life we may hold. Let us begin today to pray in unity for revival in America, Israel, Ireland, and all the nations till there are signs of revival in every state, county and city of the great nation of America, the great nation of Israel, the great nation of Ireland, and all the nations. My prayer is that each person will commit to pray at least 20 minutes a day three days a week, to give one hour of prayer in unity with all those praying in unity with them at the time they commit to pray. A group of individuals may choose to form a Glory Brides Global Missions for Revival in America, Israel, Ireland, and all the Nations Intercession/Worship Cell Group and commit to pray one hour a week or more in unity with other GBG Intercession/Worship Groups that are praying in unity with their GBG group at the time they commit to pray. These who commit to pray with GBG for Revival in America, Israel, Ireland, and all the nations are all praying in unity with all those praying already for America, Israel, Ireland, and all the nations. All I need is the time they will be praying and the number of all who will be praying to add to the chart of hours of prayer in unity. The way we begin to pray in unity for revival in America, Israel, Ireland, and all the nations is to pray first for revival in your own heart and for your family, then for your church and city. Lord, we ask that the youth walk in love and unity with their elders, and that the elders walk in love and unity with the youth. 6. Lord, we ask that Your Church walk in love and unity with one another. 7. Lord, we ask that all of us pray for revival in love and unity one with another, along with all Your Glory Brides Global brethren. 8. Lord, we ask for mercy now that Your judgments are on America for all the blood shed in abortion clinics, for murder, and for the rampant disobedience of the people in America to Your laws. 9. Lord, we ask for the spirits of slumber, apathy, deafness and dumbness, and greed to be taken off America as the people turn in repentance to You. 10. Lord, we ask for mercy concerning the earthquakes, floods, drought and famine that are coming to America in Your judgments on America which we will not be able to escape because we are guilty of great sin in America. 11. Thursday, January 06, 2005 PLEASE PRAY FOR ARABS AND MOSLEMS AS WELL AS FOR THE ISRAELIS Please, brethren, in all our praying and praising our God for Israel's revival of souls saved, let us be praying equally for His children, the Arabs and Moslems -- including Yasser Arafat, Chairman of the Palestinian Authority and Mohammad Khatami, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran -- for God loves them all. Let us be wise in not praying for the destruction of any of these leaders of these nations or peoples. Why? Would it be that God will save them and use them to show the world how He is God by how He uses them for His Glory and millions get saved by this as they tell of how God's great Love won them to Himself and how they have come to Him for all of His great Love which they saw through His people of love so that they became convinced Jesus is the Son of God and that HE ALONE IS THE ONE TRUE GOD. Beloved, our call of the Father is, above all, to LOVE. Love conquers all -- even those who are God's enemy today. In a day it can be all turned around by God to make enemies bow to the Name of our Lord, bringing Glory to Him by their testimonies. When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard: "Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that. We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery, We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare, We have killed our unborn and called it choice, We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable, We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem, We have abused power and called it politics, We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition, We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression, We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent: to direct us to the center of Your will and to openly ask these things in the name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen!" The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India,Africa, and Korea. Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program," The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God." Saturday, January 01, 2005 Repentance and Holiness When you read about other revivals in history, they all started by repentance and seeking Yahweh God’s face to change them. They made a covenant with Yahweh God to live a life of holiness, and they waited on Him to change them – while praying for revival. “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart….He shall receive blessing from the Lord.” Today, begin to look for and expect that “Golden Rain” of Revival in America and Israel. By faith see that cloud of it, the size of a man’s hand, as a servant of the Lord should be seeing by faith NOW. The cry is everywhere I go in America: “Oh, that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down…!” (Isaiah 64:1) Revival is the Presence of God Revival is the presence of God among HIS PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES BY HIS NAME. It is beyond our imagination or beyond anything we have ever known. Truly our souls will be overwhelmed when revival in America and Israel comes. I see it as an unthinkable Niagara Falls that will cause men to prostrate themselves before Yahweh God, crying, “Holy, Holy, Holy!” Men will be cleansed and holy beyond their expectations. Idols will disappear without a thought of them ever again. Oh, how glorious it will be to be closer to our Holy and Reverently Fearful Yahweh God, Yeshua and Holy Spirit. At the same time, it will be fearful for many others. Yahweh God shows His greatness in revival. Yahweh God proves to every finite man that He is the only SOVEREIGN in his or her life. When we see Him in America and Israel, we can be sure that His presence will melt out of us every hindrance of prejudice and unbelief we’ve ever had. Neither man nor demon will be able to stop the COMING GREAT REVIVAL that even now is beginning to be felt by many holy men, women and youths in America and Israel. They have fasted and prayed and heard Yahweh God, and they know His promises are always Yes and Amen. America and all nations will tremble at His presence. Anything of iniquity which satan tries to throw in the way will become as nothing, as in His presence even the waters will boil with the heat of Yahweh God’s Glory, and every adversary will tremble at His presence. Saturday, January 01, 2005 JABEZ PRAYER ANSWERED PRAYER As posted in Joel News International- From An Article By Mell Winger In Pray! Magazine, Jan/Feb, 1999 JABEZ'S PRAYER In 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 we read of Jabez, a man who enjoyed greater respect than his brothers: "Jabez was honourable above his brothers (was honoured more than his brothers): but his mother named him Jabez [sorrow maker], saying, 'Because I bore him in pain'. Jabez cried to the God of Israel, saying, 'Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and you would keep me from evil so it might not hurt me!' And God granted his request." This is an exceptional prayer. Most probably, the reason why Jabez was more honoured than his brothers is to be found in this prayer. Jabez's prayer is a useful model for people who wish to pray meaningfully for an hour. If one spends approximately 8-9 minutes on each of the elements that may be discerned in this prayer, it would take up about an hour. 1. Call upon the Name of the Lord. (Jabez cried to the God of Israel) Start by calling on the Name of the Lord. This is what Jabez did. In Gen. 4:26b we read: "At that time men began to call [upon God] by the name of the Lord." In dozens of places in the Bible we read about people "calling upon the Name of the Lord". Practical application: Be still before the Lord Almighty and focus on Him only. Consider the different names of the Lord. (In the book Change your world through prayer by Bennie Mostert there is a list of more than 450 Names of God that you can use). Start to focus every day on 4-5 of these names (or as many as are meaningful to you). The Names of God reflect His character: they reveal what He wishes mankind to know about Him and what He wishes to do for us. When we call upon the Name of the Lord, we should keep the following in mind: Remember what his Names(s) represent. Rejoice and delight in his Name. Express your love for Him and your faith by using his Name and by calling upon it. Believe in his Name. Make your prayer requests in his Name. Stand upon the authority of his Name. Rebuke Satan in his Name. Sanctify your prayers in his Name. Obtain the support of the triune God by using his Name. Use his Name as your shelter and your strength. 2. Lord, bless me. Jabez's first prayer request was, "Oh, that you would bless me (grant me Godly favour)." He asks for unlimited blessing - that God would shower his blessings upon him; bless him abundantly. Jabez knew the secret of invoking God's blessing upon himself. What does the word 'bless' mean? Within a religious context, a blessing refers to the favour of God; that God will grant prosperity; that God will help and protect. It implies God's goodwill; that man will receive only the best from God; that God will grant success and make him happy. Whoever is blessed by God shall receive from Him all that is good and beautiful. Have you ever asked for God's blessing on your life, fully expecting that He will give it? If we do not have God's blessing, God's favour, we have nothing to give to others as it is only from the abundance that God gives us that we can again give to others. Study the following Scriptures: Numbers 6:24-27 - The Lord bless you and watch, guard and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. And they shall put my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them. Ephesians 1:3 - May blessing be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm! Genesis 12:3 - And I will bless those who bless you and curse him who curses or uses insolent language towards you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed. According to these passages from Scripture God wishes to bless us and because He blesses us we should be a blessing to others. According to Numbers 6:27 it was the duty of the priests to call the Name of the Lord upon the Israelites. In other words, it was their duty to bless them. As all believers are priests of God (1 Pet. 2:9-10) we are called to do the same to the people around us. Practical application: Organise this part of your time of prayer as follows: Ask God the Father to bless you. Pray about your personal needs, pray for your own crises. Ask God to pour his abundance and favour upon you. Speak to God about the desires of your heart. God wants to bless you. Ask Him for both the small and the big things in life: He is your Father and it pleases Him to care for his children. Ask God the Father to bless you and your family. Ask God the Father to bless your church. Ask God the Father to bless the nations. Pray for different countries and population groups by name. 3. Lord, enlarge my territory. Jabez's second prayer request to the Almighty God was: Enlarge my border/territory/coast (increase/extend it). So many Christians pray only for protection, safety, or just to stay alive. God the Father has called us as kings, priests and prophets to take the gospel of peace to the ends of the earth (Matt. 28:18-20). This is what Jesus taught his disciples in the Lord's Prayer when He prayed, Let Thy Kingdom come. In Isaiah 54:2-3 the people of Israel are given the following command: Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; spare not; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes, for you will spread abroad to the right hand and to the left; and your offspring will possess the nations and make desolate cities to be inhabited. Jabez asked the Lord to give him a larger territory. God wishes also to extend your territory, your area of spiritual responsibility. Imagine what would happen if every day you prayed earnestly, "Lord extend my territory. Give me greater spiritual responsibility in your Kingdom. Give me more people to lead to You, more people for whom I can pray, more work to do for You." If you pray this from today on for the rest of your life, just imagine what God would be able to accomplish through you. God did this for Jabez and He wants to do it for each one of us. Are you ready to be more involved in the Kingdom, to do more for the Lord, to take on greater responsibility, to dream bigger dreams, and to ask God for a greater spiritual vision? Practical application: Every time you pray, ask the Lord to extend your territory. Listen to what God wishes to say to you and make yourself available to God so that He can do more and greater things through you so that others may be blessed. Set aside this time in your hour of prayer to pray for the extension of the Kingdom. When you pray that God will extend your territory, also ask it for your family, your church and for the Church all over the world. 4. Lord, let your hand be with me. Jabez's third request was: Let your hand be with me (that your power and presence will be in my life). In the language of the New Testament, Jabez asked, "Give me your spiritual power. Fill me with the Holy Spirit." The moment that God blesses you and extends your territory, you will immediately begin to find yourself in situations where you will realize that the work and the responsibilities that God has given you surpass your human capabilities. Only then will you begin to realise that you cannot do the Lord's work in your own spiritual strength. People cannot live spiritual lives in their own strength. It is at this point that we call out to God in desperation and beg Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit and give us his Godly strength. In Acts 1:8 the Lord promised, But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Eph. 5:18 admonishes us to be,...ever be filled with the Holy Spirit. In Eph. 3:16-21 the apostle Paul prays: May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the Spirit. May Christ through your faith dwell in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love. That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of it. That you may come to know the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge; that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God! Now to Him Who, by the power that is at work within us, is able to do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think, To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. Practical application: During this period of your time of prayer you can pray for the power of God in your life, that you may be filled with Holy Spirit, and that the Hand of God will be upon you. You can pray for God's presence in your life, that his supernatural power and presence will empower you and guide you to do his will. Pray this for yourself, your family, your church, for other congregations and for the Church all over the world. 5. Lord, keep me from evil. Jabez's fourth prayer was: Keep me from evil so it might not hurt me (so that I will not experience pain nor cause pain). This is exactly what Jesus taught his disciples in the Lord's Prayer: Let us not come into temptation, but deliver us from evil (Matt. 6:13). In 2 Thess. 3:3 Paul says, Yet the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil one. In James 4:7 James, the brother of Jesus, teaches: Be subject to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. The apostle Peter warns in 1 Peter 5:8: Be well balanced, be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring, seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Practical application: During this period of your hour of prayer pray that God will not lead you into temptation; that no evil will befall you; that there will be no pain and anguish in your life. Pray that God will protect you from attacks and temptations by the evil one and that if the devil should attack you, the Lord God will give you the victory. Pray this prayer for yourself, your family, your church, and for believers all over the world. 6. Lord, help me not to cause any pain. Literally, Jabez means the one who causes pain. The word may, however, be translated in two ways: meaning either "That I experience no anguish/pain" or "that I shall not cause pain." For the purposes of this hour of prayer, let us choose to give it the second meaning. Practical application: Pray that you will not cause pain in the lives of others. Pray that the Lord will help you not to hurt others by your actions, words, deeds or what you neglect to do. Pray for spiritual insight and sensitivity with regard to the physical, practical and spiritual needs of others so that you may be a blessing to them. Confess your sins and weaknesses and resolve to refrain from doing whatever the Lord lays upon your heart that may be to the detriment of others, cause pain in their lives or cause them not to receive or experience God's blessing. Pray for practical opportunities in your daily life to ease pain and to be a blessing to someone. Pray this prayer for yourself, your church and for other believers as God lays their names upon your hearts. 7. Praise and thanksgiving At the end of Jabez's prayer we read: And God granted his request. Does the fact that God answers prayers not give reason for praise and thanksgiving? Matt. 7:7-8 reads: Ask and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. According to James 4:2-3: (We) do not have because (we) do not ask. Or (we) ask and fail to receive because (we) ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. (Our) intention is to spend it in sensual pleasures. God answers prayer. Many people receive nothing from God because they do not pray. Those who pray, receive much from God. Practical application: Use the last minutes of your hour of prayer to thank God for answers to prayer and to praise Him for his goodness. Close your hour of prayer on a triumphant and victorious note by thanking God. Praise and worship Him. NOTE: 1. Jabez prayed - he didn't just complain, moan about everything, start to strike, organise a riot because things didn't work out for him. No, he started to call on the Name of the Lord. 2. He prayed with boldness. He literally cried to God, he cried to God like his great-great-grandfather Jacob in Gen. 32:24-28: Gen. 32:26-28 - 26 Then the man said, "Let me go, for it is daybreak." But Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." 27 The man asked him, "What is your name?" "Jacob," (which means: Deceiver) he answered. 28 Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome." By laying hold of God, Jacob became Israel (which means: Prince with God), because he overcame God and men in prayer, by calling on the Name of the Lord. 3. He prayed God-size prayers. He cried to God in a hopeless and desperate situation, and God did the humanly impossible. Pray God-size prayers - God can do the impossible. 4. He prayed till God answered, not just till he heard. So many people pray once or twice. O friends, let us call on the Name of the Lord till we have an answer. Become an intercessor like Jabez 5. Begin every day by praying Jabez's prayer. Every day! To discipline yourself, tick the days that you prayed this prayer off on a calendar. Do not make it a ritual prayer. Pray this prayer earnestly every day, with a genuine expectation that God will hear your prayer. 6. Secondly, begin to put time aside and try, as far as possible, to spend an hour in prayer every day. 7. Start a prayer group and pray together at least once a week for an hour. As soon as the group grows to more than 7, divide and start a second group. 8. Use Jabez's prayer to pray for yourself, your family, your church, the country and the ends of the earth. 9. Start keeping a personal prayer journal of the changes that occur in your life, answers to prayer, spiritual breakthroughs and God's blessings in your life. 10. Read the book The Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson, founder and president of Walk Thru the Bible. The following two books are also highly recommended.
